Alam Khorshed, graduated as a Mechanical Engineer with a degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka. He then worked for two of the world's largest companies in their respective domains: GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals in Chittagong and Canadian Aviation Electronics in Montreal, Canada. After practicing for nearly twenty years he has given up Engineering as a profession and returned to Bangladesh to embrace his other passion: Arts. He is now an engaged writer, translator, cultural activist and an arts organizer. After successfully running a unique socio-cultural organization named Bishaud Bangla in Chittagong for nine years, he has opened a new arts space called Bistaar: Chittagong Arts Complex in December 2014 and has been working as the founding Director of it since.
